Fall in Love with Your Valentine’s Day Decor
Share
We may be snowed in and chilly as we enter February here in Zelienople, but our fuzzy feelings for Valentine’s Day are helping warm up the store. We’ve been brainstorming decor, and we’d love to share this year’s best Valentine’s Day ideas with you.
Reusable Core Pieces
Prepping your home for each individual holiday celebration is no easy feat. You’ve just cleaned up and stored your Christmas decorations, and now you have to think about your Valentine’s Day game plan? We have a suggestion to minimize the stress: work with the same reusable core pieces each year for Valentine’s Day and arrange your decor around them. Here are five easy base pieces to start with and dress up differently every year:
Vases
Rather than switching out your assortment of tall, regular, and bud vases each year, swap out and invest in different fillers, picks, and floral arrangements. You’ll take the guess work out of filling new vases of different sizes, and you’ll be able to change colors and styles easily from year to year.
Pillow inserts
If you’re low on storage but want to continuously refresh your pillow arrangement, consider keeping one set of pillow inserts and changing just the covers each year. You can easily store a whole stack of covers in a small bin and have an instant room refresh at the ready!
Trays and Tiered Displays
Saving trays and tiered displays in neutral tones like beige, gray, and white from year to year provides you with a base for displaying your decor. Let’s face it– the trays may help arrange the decor, but the glassware, lanterns, greenery, and ceramics make the Valentine’s Day displays pop.
Decorating Trends This Year
As you unearth your core pieces from storage, you may find yourself wanting to do a decor refresh. We have a few updates on trends this year to spark some new Valentine’s Day ideas for use in your home.
Eco friendly decor has made its way into trending headlines– and into our hearts. Dried florals and reusable greens easily take the place of fresh flowers and will last you years to come instead of quickly fading. Felt hearts and garland can be crafted or purchased and replace plastic pieces for a chic eco-conscious decor update. Pair eucalyptus and natural straw linens with magenta, fuschia, and dusty rose hues for a natural and environmentally savvy look.
Maybe you’re someone who enjoys maximalist vibes instead of rustic natural decor. We have good news: this opposite trend is also in style for 2026. Think oversized floral wall pieces, pom pom garlands, and whimsical decor in bold shades of hot pink, highlighter orange, and scarlet red. Pair some retro neon lights with romantic phrases and disco balls for some extra shine.
If you’re looking to stay with more traditional decor pieces but are tired of red and pink, consider switching up the color palettes of your decor collections instead. Purple hues are quickly becoming popular for Valentine’s Day– try pairing purple pieces with peach or light blue for a lighthearted refresh that catches the eye.
