Beds and sleep areas are focal points in dorms and apartments, and we suggest expandable daybeds and stackable bunks for ultimate space saving when sharing with a roommate. If beds can’t be stacked or climbing up to the top bunk isn’t possible, bed risers are a classic option for increasing storage in small rooms. Opt for ones with built-in outlets for easier access to plugs. Missing a headboard? Consider a floating headboard secured under your mattress or a peel and stick wall decal that’s easy to remove. 

We also want to highlight desks, night stands, and end tables with multipurpose uses. Built-in ports make tech charging easy, and drawers, cabinets, and shelves create bonus storage space. We recommend the same focus when hunting for desk lamps– any outlets and charging ports are a plus. Can’t fit a desk in your space? Consider a piece with a pull-out writing board or a lap desk that can be stored away when not in use.
